- Acidophilus is a probiotic supplement that boots the immune system. Probiotic supplements provide essential friendly bacteria that benefit the entire gastrointestinal tract, helping to prevent constipation, control diarrhea, and protect against digestive upsets, food poisoning, viral and bacterial invasions, and some parasites. Take a probiotic supplement as recommended on the product label. Colostrums, a very effective probiotic, may be rotated with acidophilus as well.
- Bioflavonoids are phytochemicals found in many fruits and vegetables. Rutin, a bioflavonoid found in the white connective membranes of citrus fruits and bell peppers, help to prevent the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins, which accelerates the disposition of cholesterol in the blood vessels.
