Herbal treatments for asthma are intended to prevent or support recovery from an asthma attack, rather than to treat an acute episode. In the event of an acute asthma attack, seek immediate medical care.
- Astagalus is a Chinese herb that help to increase what the Chinese call wei chi, or person's own protective energy. It also strengthens the lungs. Take 500 milligrams twice a day for two weeks out of every month for three months following an asthma attack.
