Eat fresh vegetable and fruits. It provides us the vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, and bushels of micronutrients, which protects against cataracts (impairment of vision or blindness).

Zinc is a good source to fight against macular degeneration. You can find zinc in lean meats, crab, oysters, fortified cereals, and lobster.

Egg yolks contains utein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants which reduces the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. It was recommended that you should take seven or fewer eggs a week. Eat lean protein foods such as chicken and fish. Both protein and vitamin A are needed for healthy eyes.

Limit the intake of sugar, caffeine and alcohol. These substances contribute to eye irritation and worsen the symptoms caused by many eye problems.
