Bilberry provides important nutrients that nourish the eyes and enhance visual function. Phytochemicals called anthocyanidins in this herb also help prevent damage to the structures of the eyes. Select a preparation containing 25 percent anthocyanidins (also called PCOs) and take 40 to 80 milligrams three times daily.

Pine-bark and grape-seed extracts have powerful anti-inflammatory action. Take 25 to 50 milligrams of either three times daily.
