Maximize the use of fluids in your daily diet and especially when you are working or exposed to the sun. The best fluid to avoid dehydration is nothing but water. Make fluid and salt solutions at home.

After an acute episode, consume as much liquid as you can. Even once the episode is over, increase your water intake for several days to one week to restore depleted fluid reserves. Thereafter, be sure to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily.

Avoid alcoholic beverages and beverages containing caffeine. Both alcohol and caffeine act as diuretics, increasing you body's excretion of necessary fluids and electrolytes.

Take a well balanced diet that includes plenty od fluid, fruits, and starches. Try to avoid spicy and dairy products until you get well. Take small amount of meat and protiens.

If you don't have vomitting along with dehydration then take small amount of food several times.
