The following homeopathic remedies are recommended for oral herpes. They are also helpful for genital herpes if the penis or testes are swollen, or if there is inflammation of the vulva. Use these remedies if a genital herpes outbreak is accompanied by a sore throat.
If your tongue and the inside of your mouth are swollen, red, and dry, and pushing the tongue against the floor of the mouth cause pain, take Mercurius corrosives or Mercurius solubilis 12x, 30x, 6c, or 9c. You probably are feeling subdued, with depressed spirit. Take one dose three times daily for up to three days.
Natrum muriaticum if for mouth sores accompanied by an increased desire for salt. Take one dose of Natrum muriaticum 12x, 30x, 6c, or 9c three times daily for up to three days.
If neither of the above remedies seems right, a combination homeopathic herpes remedy may be helpful.
